Who was in this study and what were the results?
A clinical study evaluated 66 adult patients with marginal zone lymphoma (MZL) that returned or stopped responding to treatment after 2 other types of treatment.
This is called an overall response, which measures a decrease or disappearance of cancer in the body. This was seen in 63 out of 66 people who received Breyanzi.
This is called a complete response, meaning there were no signs of cancer in the body, but it does not mean the cancer has been cured. This was seen in 41 out of 66 people who received Breyanzi.
This is called duration of response. Out of the 66 people who responded to treatment with Breyanzi, 90% continued to respond (showed no signs of cancer) at 24 months.
THE MAJORITY OF PEOPLE EXPERIENCED EITHER COMPLETE OR PARTIAL REMISSION WITH A MEDIAN OVERALL RESPONSE ACHIEVED AROUND 1 MONTH (0.95 MONTHS) AFTER INFUSION. THIS RESPONSE TIMELINE RANGED FROM 0.8 TO 29.7 MONTHS.
*The treatment process includes blood collection, CAR T-cell creation, administration, and side-effect monitoring. No maintenance therapy for the lymphoma is needed after Breyanzi as long as you are responding to treatment.
