Breyanzi is a process that includes a one-time infusion* made from what’s inside of you—your own immune cells
*Following a conversation with your doctor, the Breyanzi treatment process includes blood collection, CAR T-cell creation, and pretreatment. Then, after a one-time infusion of Breyanzi, short-term and long-term side-effect monitoring will occur. Treatment experience may vary, including manufacturing results, process timing, and postinfusion hospitalization requirements.

HOW KASEY KELLER’S LBCL TREATMENT GAME PLAN LED TO REMISSION
From pro soccer career to cancer diagnosis
After an accomplished playing career in Europe, Kasey, then 40 years old, was invited to play professional soccer in his hometown of Seattle. During a routine MRI to investigate a possible hip injury, Kasey’s doctors noticed something concerning. Kasey had a follow-up MRI and, 5 days later, was diagnosed with non-Hodgkin lymphoma.
Assured by his doctors that this type of lymphoma was slow-moving and didn’t require immediate treatment, Kasey continued playing. His doctors monitored his condition with CT scans and told him that they would let him know when it was time for treatment.
Prior failed treatments led Kasey to CAR T-cell therapy
Kasey continued having regular scans and monitoring without active treatment until the fall of 2017 when he started experiencing unexplained weight loss. His doctors started chemotherapy treatment in 2018 with minimal success. That’s when he sought care at Fred Hutchinson Cancer Center in Seattle for more advanced treatment—but his cancer continued to progress. While considering a stem cell transplant, he learned that his diagnosis had changed to large B‑cell lymphoma (LBCL).
The Breyanzi breakthrough
Kasey’s change in diagnosis allowed his doctors to consider treatments approved for LBCL. He started CAR T-cell therapy with Breyanzi in the spring of 2021, shortly after FDA approval, and was monitored at a hospital. While he experienced some side effects, including developing a fever 3 to 4 days after receiving Breyanzi, he had a positive response to treatment. Ultimately, he achieved remission within 1 to 2 months and was given a declaration of “no evidence of disease” at 14 weeks.
Remission leads to a new mission
Today, Kasey enjoys his favorite pastimes, participating in family activities, and traveling for his work as a sports broadcaster. He follows up with his oncologists as needed, getting regular checkups and blood work. Kasey continues to be cancer-free since treatment with Breyanzi and will be continually monitored over the long-term. He hopes to help spread awareness of Breyanzi CAR T-cell therapy to others who are facing lymphoma as he did.
